The biggest and baddest challenge on the internet, at the moment, is the one that Ashton Kutcher the actor, has going on; he is trying to hit 1 million followers on Twitter before CNN does. You can see a video of the challenge here on People magazine online: http://www.people.com. So far, he is making headway…as the news gets out about the race to the 1 million mark the loyal and the curious are racing to Ashton’s Twitter account www.twitter.com/aplusk to check out the progress. Ashton says if he is successful he will dingdongditch Ted Turners house and film it on video. He also says, that if he wins before CNN he will purchase 10,000 bed nets, on April 25th which is World Malaria Day, to help fight malaria in Africa. At least something positive to help humanity can come from this challenge other than just the fun of the challenge; with Ashton at 920,770 followers at this moment in time…it could be that World Malaria Day will be getting those nets! http://www.malarianomore.org Can Ashton Kutcher outdo CNN; yes he can with support of those who wish to make an impact on the world!
When Ted Turner’s daughter, Laura Turner Seydel, heard about this she said she would get her Dad to throw his support around the world to get him to his goal simply for the fact that Ted Turner is a part of an organization called Nothing But Nets. This is an organization that backs purchasing nets for families, for the small price of $10, to fight malaria. http://www.NothingButNets.net .
Larry King, www.twitter.com/kingsthings has followed up the challenge himself with a challenge issued on a video which can be seen here: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/bestoftv/2009/04/15/lkl.kutcher.response.cnn It is starting to look like a rumble to me.
Ashton is trying to make a point…he is trying to say that one person can have as much influence as a whole news network with all of the new social network tools that the common man/woman has at their finger tips. This is a case where fame can do tremendous good for people in need; I applaud that. I too think that the balance of power in how the world’s perception of people and events is changing. It will be interesting to see how things evolve for the better or the worse. Thanks to all for participating in this social experiment.

Ashton Kutcher is pretty young; still, he has learned some serious lessons.
He has taken to heart this adage: “If it is to be, it’s up to me.”
His efforts are to be applauded. JUST THINK of all the good that will come of this!
How interesting it is to watch the drama of these challenges play out while people who have no internet connections will be the winners!
A good rumble is just what keeps Twitter, the internet and charity rolling!
All of this supports my theory that people are fundamentally GOOD.
