When i saw the performance, I felt like i was visually assaulted by images that I do not agree with morally; and, I felt that it was totally inappropriate.   Evidently I am not the only one, on a online poll approximately 63% said that they felt it was inappropriate for network television.   Mr. Lambert has been making provative statements in interviews about how female performers have pushed the envelope onstage sexually …and it appears, to me, that he feels that it is up to him to do the same, if that AMA performance is any indication.   I don’t think that we need either male/female performers to push the envelop sexually in performances.  I happen to believe it is inappropriate no matter who does it; nothing against Adam Lambert personally, it is just my opinion.

    Articles online seem to imply that ABC was not informed during rehearsals that there would be a male to male kiss.  Some say that they weren’t aware of  the simulated oral sex being in the performance; although another witness disagrees about that…saying it happened in rehearsal, only not quite as elaborate.   However, I can’t help but feel that ABC made a poor judgement call just  by allowing the performance in the first place, by allowing a song to have the visuals associated with S & M bondage on their stage; even if the kiss was impromptu and the other performance issues as well.  

       It appears that ABC has decided that they made a mistake as well, seeing as how Adam Lambert was scheduled to appear on Good Morning America after his AMA performance and ABC has since cancelled that appearance.  Another network took advantage of that and has booked him to appear on their morning show; he will sing two songs.  ABC has allegedly said that they feel his performance would be inappropriate for their morning viewers.  I agree.  Hopefully the other network considers the possible repercussions; because, young children are at home watching this program.  Especially during this holiday season when kids are getting days off from school. 

    I feel that Mr. Lambert is trying so hard to shove his perceived lifestyle and his image onto the viewing public that he has become offensive to many…and no amount of talent is going to overcome that; if the viewers feel disrespected or put upon.   There are some who are praising his artistic talent…and his bravery if you will.  I however feel that he will eventually push his agenda so hard that he will wear out his welcome in many venues.   The music industry is a business…and when your personal views or behavior starts to affect the businesses bottom line…then the powers that be are forced to make prudent decisions.  If Adam Lambert decides that his agenda of promoting his gay image/lifestyle is more important than having his musical career flourish then i guess he will deal with the consequences of that if the business owners decide that it is no longer profitable for him to make appearances.  Then again, some people love controversy no matter what it is based on. 

      You see, sponsors are the ones who will get the complaints; already ABC allegedly had over 1500 complaints regarding Mr. Lamberts performance.    I suspect that many more grumbled privately than those who actually complained formally to the network.  Networks need sponsors to do these programs.   They will pull out of programs where Mr. Lambert is scheduled to perform, if the sponsors feel that they will loose support from their potential customers.   Eventually there could be a backlash; and the events that Mr. Lambert is scheduled to perform at, will become fewer and farther apart.  If that happens; and it could, then I hope the shock value that Mr. Lambert seems so intent upon exposing us all to is enough for him to take comfort in.    When instead, he could have possibly had a real successful career had he relied upon his singing talent instead of his ability to make people cringe inwardly because he tried force us to accept his musical performance that demeaned other performers onstage in a sexual way, as being acceptable to the mainstream viewer.

       Susan’s appearance was unsullied initially by handlers who often try to make contestants over into an appearance that is slicked up and geared towards making the amateur appear as a professional.  Susan made an impression because she came across as an average woman…then when she opened her mouth and sang…she made eyebrows lift and smiles appear.  She truly has the voice of an angel.  However, under immense pressure during the last weeks..she appeared to become stressed, faultering with the opening of one of her performances, and getting into an altercation with some “fans” which was captured on camera.  After taking second place in the finals on Saturday; news reports say that Susan has checked out of the pressure cooker of the media and the public zone and checked into a rehab place voluntarily for some R & R; and, some help destressing.  I think that is great since she is scheduled to record an album in the next couple of months. 

          Susan Boyle deserves the time to regroup; and, time to prepare to realize her dream of recording and performing, if that is her choice.  These talent shows should stop trying to “package and present” people as a product and let them just do what they are skilled at.  Susan Boyle may not be a person who goes out on concert tours, does talk shows, and morning television shows at a grueling pace.  Not everyone is able to be a superstar onstage; even though they may be gifted with musical talent.   She may just become a recording artist who does only what she loves; serving up her skill in a way that meets her needs, her expectations, and  still gives the gift of musicality to her fans. 

          Isn’t that enough all on it’s own?  Why does she have to change to fit the ideal of someone else’s expectations to how she should use her talent?  She should not be required to become someone else; doing things she is ill equipped to do, and does not enjoy.  What a blessing she could be, just recording her talent….allowing those who market such talent to do so without jepardizing her well-being!  Be well, be happy Susan and do things on your own terms; take joy in your accomplishments.

         The pastor, David Jones and his wife Mary, were allegedly told that they were conducting an unlawful use of land as they were having a religious assembly that was a violation of code.  They were told to stop violating the code or to apply for a major use permit.  This permit can cost many thousands of dollars; of course it would allow for them to continue having their small group of 15 friends or less over to study the bible.  Remember, this was in their own home.

           Is this code, that the pastor and his wife were allegedly violating, enforced when someone has a baby shower in their home with more than 15 guests?  Or when people gather together with friends to watch the Super Bowl or American Idol?  Will those people be forced to obtain a major use permit? 

        What about you; where you live could this happen to you?  Should government officials be allowed to ban such gatherings in regards to religious freedom, in private residences,, unless people pay them large sums of money?   What are your thoughts?

Today, Farrah is blazing a trail or for different reasons.  She is living a legacy that she never set out to do.  Farrah is battling cancer, she is battling tabloid papers for her right to privacy when it comes to her medical information, and she is video- documenting her struggle to over come the difficulties associated with her journey.   She is doing this with the help of her friend Alana Stewart.  It is an honest and gritty real experience. 

I saw an interview recently where Farrah said that she is trying to discover a purpose or a reason behind her being stricken with cancer.  She has  allegedly tried alternative treatments to fight the cancer that has attacked her body.  It is not easy to hear that some of her reports have not had the results that she would have hoped for…a healing.  It is even harder knowing that cameras are recording her real life experiences and reactions.   Her long time love, Ryan O’Neal, has said on video tape…”Just Pray For Her”.  I dont think that is an unreasonable request…in fact, I think it is the best thing one person can do for another; if they truly believe what they are praying for can and will be given by God to that person.   This documentary is going to be available on the 15th of May for people to view.  Some people are saying negative things about Farrah’s well-being right now; only God knows the outcome.  However, dont let that stop you from praying for Farrah or anyone else in her condition…God still does miracles.  No matter what, she is struggling to overcome this disease and needs the power of prayer to gain strength and to be free from pain and discomfort.

The documentary has been in the works for some time.  I suspect it will be studied for a variety of reasons..some out of curiosity, some will watch for up to date reports on her health,  others for news information…and, i think some will watch it for personal reasons.   No matter why someone watches it…i think it is wise to remember that Farrah Fawcett’s legacy is that she is more than a pretty face, or another famous bikini body that someone can exploit for personal financial gain.   She is a human being who is struggling to make sense out of an unimaginable disease that seeks to destroy every person it comes in contact with.   And as such, she deserves respect and admiration for trying to make some good come out of a very difficult time in her life; hoping that it will help others in her situation.  May God bless her and help her during this ordeal!

        To all the sons and daughters in the armed forces (military) who have fought and defended our country’s honor, freedom and way of life…we say thank you; we can never thank you enough for your sacrifice.  To those who made it possible to look upon the visage of Lady Liberty and to take pride in her message; we also are grateful.   To those who have worked to give money to her restoration and those who have labored and done the work…we appreciate you.  We must take good care of our symbol of independence and freedom, we must protect her from the elements and from all things which seek to destroy her message.   In this way we can continue to inspire and impact the lives of others around the world.

          Once again, Lady Liberty will be making a statement just by standing her ground and welcoming those who come to her.  Of course, they are making some adjustments to the way things are handled regarding visitors; but that is ok.  She will be open!   People can once again begin to travel to the place where so many of our families were greeted when they came to this country to begin life anew with hope and expectation of a long, healthy and prosperous life as an American.  The visitors will see the view of the shore from Lady Liberty’s crown. 

            There is such a rich history relating to the Statue of Liberty and how she came to represent freedom to those who traveled to the United States.   The gift that was made of her to our country from the people of France; to the comfort that she brings to the hearts of those who have come here from around the world…Miss Liberty speaks volumes about all who have been oppressed and have since broken free from their oppressors.  She is a marvel to look at and a reminder that we must always remember to lift up those who have not known such freedom in their lives.
