			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>       Sales videos are all of the rage when it comes to selling products or services online; it has become the number one method of selling online.  Many marketers are intimidated by the idea of using video to sell their wares online, but with a little knowledge and training they can overcome that to earn more this year than ever before.  Keith Wellman has been making a name for himself over the last year or two when it comes to using the sales video to make money online.  This has started a huge trend as others have been watching him and seeing the results.  This technique is no longer a secret as other marketers have been contacting Keith asking for behind the scenes information so that they can emulate his success!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>        Happy New Years!  Everyone is pumped that 2009 is over and the horizon is clear&#8230;full of hope and promise of all that lay before them in the new year.  This is as it should be.  I like Twitter because it is like a rolling credit of who&#8217;s who in both big and small business&#8230;it is a window into their world of business and a link into who they are as a person.  I like information&#8230;I like to get to know someone before I do business with them; maybe it comes from being raised in a small town, but it works for me.  I think the reward of being a business owner who exhibits honesty, respect, responsibility and reliability; is repeat business based on the loyalty from their customers because of the way they do business with integrity and with a sincere desire to please their customers with their sales, their service and their products.</strong></p>
<p>           <strong>Every tweet I read, serves up a slice of who that person is and how they conduct both their business and their personal life&#8230;some people believe that those two things don&#8217;t necessarily have to align themselves up with one another; I disagree.   There are those, who if you read between the lines ( and some that you can plainly see, without having to look too hard), who will do, say, or act anyway that they want to, without necessarily showing a shred of integrity.  Making money is their business motto&#8230;and no amount of prodding will induce them to conduct themselves with sensitivity, with respect or, with an authentic genuine human interaction.  &#8220;It&#8217;s just business&#8221; is their claim to fame; don&#8217;t be that person.</strong></p>
<p><strong>        Success is about more than just making money&#8230;it is building something in which you can take pride in.  A business that is successful is built upon positive relationships between the business owner, their clients and their associates.  Successful relationships are build on honesty and strength of character of the individuals in the relationships.  Standing behind your business products and services shows your commitment to the customer&#8217;s satisfaction.  Let&#8217;s do our best to establish solid business practices that are long lasting and when this way of business becomes common&#8230;then and only then&#8230;let&#8217;s declare, &#8220;It&#8217;s Just Business&#8221;.</strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>         I don&#8217;t know about you but, there are times when my email inbox is bombarded with marketing/sales programs proclaiming the BEST techniques to use to make sales.  Most of those emails are trying to sell me on their latest program, software or coaching product are trying to tell me that I need to use the hard sell&#8230;some say soft sell.  Other emails bash me over the head with their offensive black hat techniques; while other marketers side with the white hat techniques-just like the old western movies; right away you knew who were the &#8220;good guys and who were the bad guys&#8221;.  Not really true in marketing&#8230;some people have just fallen into the LATEST or promised GREATEST selling techniques proming to make them money online. </p>
<p>           There are even people who want or need to sell products or services online&#8230;but, they cringe at the very thought of being called a salesperson.  They want to make money&#8230;but, they don&#8217;t want to sell.   Why is that; it is because over the years, sales people have gotten a reputation as being pushy, dishonest, or smarmy!    The reality is, to make money online-you DO need to be a sales person.  Can you successfully sell and still be perceived as  a &#8220;good person&#8221;?  <span id="more-2476"></span></p>
<p>          Sure, I think you can sell products or service and still hang on to who you are, with your ethics in place.   I believe that the way you sell is a reflection of who you are as a person&#8230;or at least, it should be.  Don&#8217;t be persuaded to take one tack or another in how you market if it goes against who you are as a person; just because it worked for someone else and they made lots of money.  For those people LEARNING internet marketing, online sales techniques, or affiliate marketing&#8230;.I want you to think carefully about what kind of salesperson you are!  How you conduct your business definately matters.</p>
<p>          In case some of you don&#8217;t know it&#8230;customers are a pretty savy bunch of people.  Oh there are coaches/marketers out there who tell you that your customer doesn&#8217;t even really know what it is they want or need; and, while there may be a handful of those kind of customers&#8230;for the most part-they Do know what they want.  Respect them and act accordingly.  </p>
<p>         If the customer thinks that they want something that isn&#8217;t going to benefit them; you could choose to  not correct them and just sell them what they want anyway; but is that right?  If you want to keep them happy and see them successful; you will point out the difference between wanting/needing.  Show them how they could benefit from other products, if that is the right thing for them, if  that will increase their success.    You will have gained a customer for life .  But what if your product isnt right for them; but, they want it anyway?  Truth&#8230;give them truth about what they really need&#8230;even if it is your competitor&#8217;s product or service.    Say what?</p>
<p>            Isn&#8217;t your goal to have a happy customer in the end?  Then you must represent yourself and your business in a way that reflects that you respect your customer by not manipulating them into purchases that they either dont want or dont need.   But you say, I am in business to make money!  True enough&#8230;but, repeat business is better than a dishonest sale that will leave a bad taste in your customer&#8217;s mouth when they think of you or your business.  They will remember how you conducted yourself as a business person; whether you handled the situation in a good way, or in a  bad/indifferent way.</p>
<p>          In my mind, if you have to &#8220;shock&#8221; your potential customer by how you &#8220;sell&#8221; them&#8230;then you are merely playing mind games and manipulating the customer with &#8221;black hat&#8221; tactics.  Instead, try operating in a genuine way which connects what you provide them, along with exactly what they need.  Now that may take some honest, straightforward speaking because some of your customers may believe they need something else.  You have to convince them with facts, figures, and testimonies that don&#8217;t promise them the moon&#8230;when you know that you can&#8217;t deliver them any such thing.  Be realistic with your promises&#8230;make sure you can deliver what you say you can; and then, go one step further and give them a bit more.  They will recognize your commitment to them, as your customer, and it will begin to build a loyalty between you, as the salesperson; and them, as the buyer.</p>
<p>          Ok, some more honesty here; your honesty as a marketer or salesperson&#8230; can cost you some customers.  What?  Why would being honest cost you customers?   It is because your customers have been being taught by others to expect to be manipulated.  They may think that you are not for real&#8230;they may believe that there is a &#8220;catch&#8221; to what you are promising them.  It is possible that your potential customer may buy into another marketer&#8217;s big promises or overly hyped product-if it doesn&#8217;t deliver them what they expected&#8230;that will come back to bite both the customer and the marketer who did not represent themselves or their product/services honestly.    It is up to you to present yourself in a way that delivers exactly what you say you will, in the way you promise, in a timely manner; and, back up your promises by following through.  Eventually, word gets around about how solid you are as a marketer and you will get respect, as well as trust, from those who do business with you.   And what&#8217;s more, they WILL come back and DO business with you because they will realize that it is better to deal with business people that are honest in how they conduct their business.</p>
<p>         In the old days when people conducted business in small towns&#8230;they quickly made a name for themselves as honest or dishonest.  Word got around.  The internet may be a bigger business field&#8230;but, if you create an image online with your customers one way or the other&#8230;be prepared for that to impact your business!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I heard about a business in my local town that has been in business for 100 years.  Wow, that is pretty amazing don&#8217;t you think?  I mean&#8230;think about it, how hard is it to please customers each and every day?  You have to have some pretty happy customers to allow you to stay in business for 100 years.  So, what does the present owner of that business claim is the secret to his company&#8217;s staying power?  He says it is the service and the staff.  Hmmm&#8230;interesting concept hey?  Do you own a business; does it have staying power?<span id="more-2424"></span></p>
<p>How many businesses do you know about who have started up only to go out of business in the first year or two?  Often after investing much time, energy and money; they go out in a flame of glory.  It can happen in small business and it can happen in the world of high finance.  It takes alot of know how to start a business, to nurture it and to direct it&#8217;s growth to a place of prominence.  Knowing when to diversify and when to narrow your focus with your sales or service is an important skill to have.</p>
<p>In today&#8217;s world we hear about all kinds of strategies to get your business off of the ground, to keep it afloat, to build it up, and take it to the next level.  What if your business doesn&#8217;t have a long legacy like the one I just told you about who have had a 100 year track record and base of customers; how do you stay in business in today&#8217;s economy?</p>
<p>Well, I think you can try many of the new strategies that other experts are recommending.  If your business is a brick and mortar business&#8230;you can benefit from adding an online presence to harness the power of the web.  You can get creative with your advertising&#8230;but beware, many of your customers are going to be looking to your online presence&#8230;and, if you educate yourself, it doesn&#8217;t have to cost you an arm and a leg.  You can add bells and whistles to your business and the latest and greatest attention grabbing techniques&#8230;.but; if you are wise you will listen to the wisdom of that business owner I just told you about.</p>
<p>You see, he realizes that no matter what you do to draw in your customers&#8230;if you do not provide a commitment to customer service&#8230;you are not going to keep their business if they do happen to purchase your product or services.  You need to hire a staff that cares as much as you do about making the customer feel satisfied not only with what you are providing them&#8230;but, also with their choice of your company as the provider of that product or service.  Once you realize the importance of the &#8220;keeping the customer happy and satisfied&#8221; you will have begun to build the kind of business that future generations will celebrate as having had a legacy of staying power!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>       Everyone in today&#8217;s business world tells you that it is important to brand yourself (your biz) to be successful.  It is true.  There is so much competition for the customer or target audience&#8217;s attention that you must grab the thought process of that customer as soon as they even entertain the idea of doing business with anyone in your particular area of expertise.   Whether you do business online or offline&#8230;getting the customer&#8217;s business and keeping the customer&#8217;s business is what it is all about.  So, it got me thinking&#8230;what is the difference between branding and labeling?</p>
<p>        To me, labeling has always had a negative connotation.  Labeling is the action by which someone or something is described&#8230;it is limiting.  Putting something in a box is not helpful for picking up fringe business in areas that COULD be related to the services that you provide.  Labeling does not provide opportunities for expanding what you do&#8230;it simply describes itemized ideas or services.</p>
<p>         Branding on the other hand is defining&#8230;or designating something as a go to source.  It is creating a process of authority in a certain area of expertise.  Yes, to a potential customer it also describes who you are or what you are about&#8230;but, by branding yourself/your business a certain way&#8230;you can create your own description (labeling of your brand) by choosing how you want to be known.  It is a very carefully constructed advertising association in the minds of your potential customers or targeted audience.  If done skillfully, when your customer or targeted audience is in need of services which you can supply&#8230;they do not think of others with the same skills or services&#8230;they think only of what you as a business or business owner can provide them&#8230;that is branding&#8230;and that is why it is so very valuable in today&#8217;s business world. </p>
<p>         If you can brand your business as a go to source&#8230;when your customer is in need or want of something RELATED to your brand&#8230;it opens the possibilities of, what ifs.  Even if you can&#8217;t provide the what if&#8230;a good go to source will have in place a referral plan to other directions that their customers may need.  This only builds your credibility as the go to source&#8230;it builds your trustibility factor and your customer&#8217;s appreciation and loyalty; when they again need what you/your business can provide them.  That is how a brand is grown and strengthened.</p>
