You make some very valid points Shara! I believe that everything that has God taken out of it becomes devalued. Every person has value and this young woman doesn't realize it yet but she has just offended the most important person...that is God himself.

I feel for anyone who doesn't have a relationship with him...because I don't know how a person comprehends the true importance or value in anything. Human life is one of the greatest gifts that we have. Love is such an important part of that...it is difficult for me to understand the disconnect that happens when a woman can separate her love for one child (born) and the child who never gets the chance to live and breathe by her own hand.

When/If the day ever comes when she realizes what she had done and can see it with a compassionate heart...I can only imagine the regret/depression/fear/anger that she will experience. At that time, I hope that she recognizes God for who God is and asks for forgiveness...and means it!

Wow. You have given us so much to think about and contemplate here. I saw her live video after you sent that link to me. Her last statement, in my opinion, sums up her situation in full: "Have a great and God-less day."

Those who are not filled with the love of God will never ever view life as meaningful or valuable. To them, beating hearts can be disposable without second thought. Why not, right? What's stopping them from caring?

They do not care that Scripture makes it clear that life is given by God (we cannot make our own hearts beat, after-all). There are videos online now that show a beating heart as early as 4 weeks (if not sooner). A beating heart is a living being - it's that simple. But as you mention, it's a legal procedure that brings billions of dollars for abortion clinics world-wide. People will fight to keep that business in place, no matter what Scripture says. Such people consider themselves above and over God's moral and ethical codes.

For such people, I do not even discuss God or His clear view that we are "wonderfully and fearfully made." Rather - I point out this simple fact:

***Everything Hitler did was LEGAL. Owning Blacks as slaves was once LEGAL. A man beating and raping his own wife was once LEGAL.***

Just because something is LEGAL...does not mean it's RIGHT or JUST. The term "legal" has been (and is) used a crutch for all sorts of evil. I refuse to be one such person.

There is only one word separating a baby from being a baby in our culture. One one. "WANTED." When the word Wanted is used, the baby is a baby. When the word Unwanted is used, the baby is now defined as a "thing."

As far as sharing such an event on live broadcast I think it's pretty clear - she wanted support from her "friends" because she knows, in her heart, that she NEEDED support from someone/anyone - just to feel as though what she was doing was okay. Without seeing other people applaud her, she worried that she'd feel guilty for stopping that little heart from beating.

And how very very sad for her *born* child - if he finds that video Online some day - what will he think? How will he feel? Knowing that his legacy was supposed to include a sibling? If my own son found a video like that, featuring me - his heart would break into a million pieces.

I'm with you and quite frankly, with Susan B Anthony - who stated:

"Guilty? Yes. No matter what the motive, love of ease, or a desire to save from suffering the unborn innocent, the woman is awfully guilty who commits the deed. It will burden her conscience in life, it will burden her soul in death; But oh, thrice guilty is he who drove her to the desperation which impelled her to the crime!" Susan B. Anthony - The Revolution

Oh, Rainy.
We are all ONE so when one of us hurts it affects us all. And so many are hurting now with all manner of illness, situations and difficulties. It's a test of our faith, that's for sure.
Getting it out in print, like your blog, or by keeping a journal is a healthy way to express our grief, sadness, frustration and fear, as well as the anger and resentment that might crop up. Having a strong conviction and good relationship with our Creator will help us to face life's lessons and grow from them.

I wish Peace to you and yours.

Hugs

Bullying activity may indeed send someone to prison. I can assure you that the bullying does not stop because the offender is behind bars. Bullying goes on inmate to inmate; inmate to staff and staff to inmates. Staff to staff bullying is not unheard of, either. It has happened that staff to visitors bullying can take place with alarming frequency and it, too, can be insidious or overt.

IF ONLY mankind could respond to the God spark that resides within each heart, bullying could become a non issue.

We might begin with forgiveness...

Ah, but that's the Idealist in me.

Sincerely,
Connie Baum

Rainy,
The horrors of Haiti have accomplished something that may not have happened without all the chaos of the earthquake: people of every circumstance all over the world have joined forces to come to the aid of the Haitian population. The synergy of all that loving help has been amazing to witness!
As people were pulled from the rubble they would burst into song! Every nation of the world needed to see the joy and thanksgiving that was displayed there as this catastrophe unfolded. Their cups overflow and they are not afraid to praise their Creator for His goodness!
Even young children have spearheaded their own expression of care to provide aid for the victims. We have all been inspired by so many Herculean efforts to help those in need.
I'm so grateful to you for addressing this, Rainy. As always, you are so eloquent.
Hugs,
Mother Connie

Oh, Rainy. The special way you pick up current events topics and look at them from every angle continues to boggle my mind and pluck my heartstrings.

The devastation in Haiti has been an issue I cannot bear to view. It is even too painful for me to observe the news reports because, feeling as I do that Mankind is One, I truly FEEL the pain of Haiti's suffering. It is suffocatingly troubling.

When it comes to being helpful it occurs to me that whatever fuels one's passions is the action to take. For example, if you could send donations, that's your bailiwick. If you could go to the people and serve them as a volunteer, by all means-GO.

When we follow our hearts with the intention of doing the right thing for all the right reasons, God blesses our gifts and the receivers are blessed, as well.

Thanks again for yet another thoughtful post.

Hugs

I have to say Shara, Louise and Connie that the word hero can be a somewhat difficult thing to describe...however, what continues to amaze me is that the human spirit recognizes exactly what a hero is and what a hero does.

I think every person on the planet has moments in their life when they are offered the opportunity to act in a heroic way. The world is a better place when each and everyone of us chooses to do so. Thanks for commenting!

Space does not allow for me to list all the people I think of as heroes, but I will mention two of my Top Ten:

Ralph P. Brown is an uber talented pointillist artist who has completely transformed his life from the inside out. He shares his Mohawk Indian culture by living his life and is one of the most amazing human beings on the planet. You can learn more about him if you visit http://www.mirroredwindows.com. His artwork and his writings will stir your soul.

Sheila Carlson Davis is a charming and spiritual woman who grew up in a rural small town in Nebraska, became a teacher and has been instrumental in helping 5th graders in several states learn-in addition to a common curriculum-everything there is to know about Peace, literature, acceptance and becoming their best selves. She creatively gave her students every advantage she could imagine. Now retired, she continues to teach the world by the living of her life.

I admire many people who have influenced my own life but these two are standouts in the department of "My Favorite Hero."

It's just a pity, Rainy, that you can't post a blog we can relate to! JUST TEASING.
Hugs

My hero is anyone who champions for peace, harmony and consideration towards others. It could be as simple as a teacher educating others of those values. More specifically, I always loved the work and words of a small child who spoke for millions- Mattie Stepanek. Space will not allow all that needs to be said about this young man. His precious life was cut way too short, however, his legacy will travel through the years by the works of others and his mother's determination to see that all know of the "messenger". Her book, MESSENGER, chronicles this amazing story.

Please read it to learn more about one of my heroes.
