I want to tell you about a special person and a special project.  My friend Renita has a mission in life to support the men and women of our military with cards and letters of appreciation and support; showing them respect and honor.  She created a website called Make2Tell2; it is found here:  http://www.make2tell2.com/ .  That site and the idea behind it is part of her non-profit organization called, That’s it, I’m going to Grandma’s.   http://www.thatsitimgoingtograndmas.org/ .   She recently did an interview that can be seen here telling of her mission:  http://new.khastv.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=16876&storytopic=7   Great job Renita!

Please help her out by sending homemade cards of support, respect, and appreciation for our military men and women here:  Make2Tell2 ,  991 Road 325, Harvard, NE  68944.   She sends these cards with the postage paid out of her own pocket too; so if you find that you are able and moved to do so…I am sure she will accept donations to help out with the postage.   You can further her goal of reaching a million cards of support by telling at least two others about Make2Tell2.

Most of us know a member of the armed forces; or know someone who has a loved one in the service.  It can be a lonely time to be seperated from your friends and family at special occasions or holidays.  The fourth of July is ahead of us…but everyday there are men and women in the service who are missing birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and other such times of celebrations.  It can mean the world to them to receive a card that expresses how much their sacrifice is appreciated by the rest of us.

Time overseas is difficult especially in the trouble spots around the globe such as the areas where our military forces are engaged in war.  This isn’t about politics and whether you believe in the war or not…these service people deserve a lift of their spirit and a great big thank you.  Can you help?  Maybe you are involved with a veteran’s group, or a girl/boy scout troop, a youth group or a children’s church; could they be encouraged to make cards and tell others?  Sure they could.  Please take a few minutes and help Renita reach out and make an impact around the world because nobody does it alone!  http://www.make2tell2.com/ .

good post. I completely agree that we must support our troops from our own countries (mine being the UK). We may not always agree with the reasons why they have been posted to the locations they are based, but that should not/must not stop us supporting them. After all they miss out on so much of their family life that it must be very difficult for them.
We must always support our country’s troops!

    Oh, Rainy!

You are the #1 Cheerleader for so many great causes. This one touches my heart because I am married to a veteran; one of our nephews is serving a second tour in the middle East, and because Renita is such a special soul to choose this project for her non-profit entity.

Our little Sunday School class will be supporting this card making effort. It is an honor and a privilege to help with this important endeavor.

Maybe we learned an important lesson when our troops came home from Viet Nam?

Thanks again for your enthusiasm for Make2Tell2. Your pom poms are on order and there should be a letter sweater to go with them! wink/wink

    Hugs
    Connie

Thanks Jeff, I am learning that more each day. I have such great friends in you and the Mastermind group and all the others that are joining with me now to make this project work.
