Children who are prescribed eyeglasses are often self conscious & refuse to wear them. Ficklets eyeglass charms help solve that problem by building a confident self esteem with fashion wear.

Fashion Eyeglasses Charms Even The Most Self Conscious

Let’s be honest, most children who are told that they must wear glasses will often not be thrilled with the idea of having to wear eyeglasses. For many children, it is the idea that others will make fun of them or, cause them to be viewed as being different from other children their own age. Being bullied because you are visually impaired and have to wear glasses can cause a child to refuse to wear them, out of fear of being made fun of.

No one want to be made to feel self conscious about themselves, especially at certain ages when it is most important to fit in with their peers. We’ve come along way since the days of having a choice between wearing heavy black plastic frames or wire frames that were basically your only choices.

Still, everyone likes to look their best and there are many fashion frames from which someone can choose to fit the shape of their face and their sense of style. On the other hand, if you are looking to change things up so that you don’t get bored with a certain look once you’ve purchased your eyeglass frames; there wasn’t much you could do except buy multiple sets of glasses…until now.

Ros Guerrero is the owner of a company that has solved this problem. She invented eyeglass charms that add a bit of decorator style to your eye wear frames. Some of these charms are classic styles that are a great way to dress up your lenses for a night out…others are kind of funky colorful and fun charms. There are charms for adults, for girls and for boys too. I like the fact that there are charms that a child can choose from in their area of interest of art or sports.

There are also seasonal charms, pets/animals, colorful flowers, or charms that create awareness of issues such as breast cancer. Ros has created a variety of charms for you to choose from. These make great gifts too for just about any occasion! They are easy to attach and the fun is in the conversations that take place when others notice the charms attached to the glasses. It is a wonderful way to break the ice for children who may have trouble initiating conversations with others.

The really neat thing about Ros’ company is that her daughter Gem was her inspiration. One day, Ros designed and attached her first set of charms to Gem’s glasses and sent her to school. Gem received so many compliments, in her special needs class, that the idea of Ficklets was born. Getting noticed wearing glasses, for a child, is not always a positive experience. Ficklets charms can positively influence how a child perceives wearing their eye wear. After all, if a child won’t wear their glasses how can they possibly help their eyesight? Much of a person’s education is learned visually. If a persons vision is impaired in any way, it is only logical that getting them to commit to wearing their glasses is important, right?

Ros & Gem ~*~The designer & The inspiration

As you know, children aren’t the only ones who wear glasses. What’s really great about eye wear today is the fact that there are so many choices. Still, it is the same for adults…who wants to wear the same old- same old look, day after day. There are classic charms for female adults as well. The added touch of these charms can dress up your look at work or, for a night out making you feel stylish and attractive. Everyone is at their best when they feel confident and assured about their appearance. Changing your look can be costly. It’s a lot more affordable to change up the look of your present glasses by purchasing Ficklets than it is to go out and purchase an extra set of frames.

Do you know someone who refuses to wear their glasses because they are self conscious about the way they look? Have you ever known someone whose life was changed because their vision was improved by wearing glasses? If so, then you understand the importance that Ficklets can play when it comes to self esteem and wearing prescription glasses. Are you thinking of someone in your life who would appreciate a pair of Ficklets? If so…what are you waiting for? Thanks Ros & Gem for helping us to see things more beautifully!

Check out this young girls reaction to her Ficklets: http://www.youtube.com/user/Ficklets?feature=mhum

Recent news of Tiger Woods taking an indefinite amount of time off from golf will help him in his attempts towards achieving a goal of self improvement and healing from behaviors causing scandal.

The news media is full of new reports of this woman, or that one, who is now connected to the negative behavior attributed to Tiger Woods. There are reports of sexual immorality such as porn stars, prostitutes and alledged long term extra marital affairs. Tiger has allegedly admitted to infidelity when he made a statement on his website: http://bit.ly/4VCBVi . He says he is taking an indefinite break from golf; I think that is important. He needs to channel his time and attention to correcting the things in his life that allowed him to be in this position, at this time in his life. If Tiger Woods is on a course to self-improvement, he will have to remove himself from the lifestyle that he has been living in, which allowed him to make choices that appear to have been so destructive.

Tiger says that he is aware of the hurt and damage that he has caused and that he is sorry; and, he is asking for forgiveness. He appears to be aware that his actions have impacted his sponsors, his family, friends, fans and the public in general in a tremendously negative way. At one point, in the last couple of weeks, he referred to his sins, and the fact that he wasn’t perfect. The effects of these poor choices are long reaching and potentially explosive.

His statement calls for the need for time, privacy and a safe haven that he and his family need for healing. News reports claim that Elin, his wife, has purchased a home on an island in Stockholm, Sweden. This after the New York Post has reported that Tiger is being accused of paying a large sum of money to former alleged madam Michelle Braun for the services of her escorts (and some say prostitutes). Ms. Braun allegedly claims that the services she provided through her escorts included more than just dates and sometimes included multiple girls at the same time. He could be in legal trouble there because prostitution is illegal; if that actually happened and it can be proven.

All of these allegations simply imply that Tiger was living a life that was wildly out of control on a personal level. The fact that people are making these claims and he is not denying them is horribly disappointing to many. Tiger had the public image of a stand up guy; a guy who became a positive inspiration to many. He had the image of a perfect family, a successful career, a role model to young people around the world…and wealth, fame and status that many only dream of achieving. However, most of us know that putting people on a pedestal is wrong, human beings can fail.

Tiger and his father set up his Tiger Wood’s Foundation to give back to society. When they began the organization it was intented to help young people discover who they are and what their skill sets are. There is the Tiger Woods Learning Center which has after school programs that help kids explore and prepare for careers that they are interested in pursuing. The foundation even offers scholarships to some. This is all worthwhile and admirable. However, it is hoped that these recent developments in Tiger’s life do not negatively impact the giving to the foundation or those who benefit from the foundation and it’s services; that would only hurt those who have come to depend on the opportunities that the foundation provides young people who are trying to reach for their dreams by achieving their goals.

Tiger’s father Earl was instrumental in inspiring him and helping Tiger to focus his attention on achieving his goals. When he lost his father, his Pop, you have to wonder if he lost his moral rudder. Some say that it is possible that Tigers recent car accident was caused by a possible addiction to pain medication. Tiger’s alledged participation with Ms. Braun’s escorts supposedly happened between 2006 and 2007.

Tiger Woods lost his father Earl in the Spring of 2006 and the birth of his first child, daughter Sam, was in early summer of 2007. Knee surgery combined with these other major life changes happening at the same time could have contributed to this situation; however, ultimately no one is responsible for Tiger’s choices but, he himself. The sad thing is that others will suffer consequences through no cause of their own. Tiger has recently said that, he needs to focus his attention on being a better husband, father and a person. It could be that he comes out of this whole debacle stronger, healthier and with more moral integrity than he was perceived to have had before he fell from grace.

By moving to this home on the island of Stockholm, Sweden, that is only accessible by boat, he increases his chances of doing exactly what he said he needs to do, to become a better husband, father and a person. They will need help as a couple to repair their marriage and they will need privacy…this home on the island should be helpful; as long as, they look at it, in that way and not as a means of running away.

There is going to be no easy fix. The thing is, if there was as much promiscuity as the newspapers claim, then there are health concerns as well for everyone involved. Testing should be manditory for each person who was sexually active with Tiger. This healing time will require open communication and honesty. It may include professional help. It should definately include a spiritual awakening, because that will help facilitate healing in all of the areas of his life. Tiger Woods is on a course to self-improvement…let’s wish him and his family well in their attempts to recover and heal from these difficult challenges.

Jeff Mills and Jeff Wellman recorded a webinar on outsourcing that is helping many online businesses become more productive and successful.

For many people who are starting up an online business presence, it is overwhelming to discover that they have to do all and be all when it comes to creating their product, establishing an online presence, pumping up the SEO traffic machine, submitting their website to the appropriate directories, creating a support desk, handling support, work with the technical aspect of maintaining an online presence and continue to create products that meet your customers needs. There is much to learn and while doing so, they feel like they are on information overload; trying to learn it all, in a speedy manner so that they can get their business up and running.

So, how do people, who are not well versed in all of the aspects of creating an online business, go about getting themselves and their products out there for the customers to find them? Do they spend 3 or 4 years learning how to market online from a series of gurus or internet marketing coaches? They could do that, many people do; however, here is another suggestion that might just help you out in record time.

Last week, Jeff Mills and Jeff Wellman did a free webinar on outsourcing. Jeff Mills shares his experience with outsourcing many of the tasks that he either just doesn’t have time for, or just does not enjoy. This webinar was extremely well received. There is still time to have access to it; if you want to know how to make more money with your online business with less time and stress, on your part.

This is an affiliate link, just so you know…however, once you hear this…I don’t think that you will care that it is an affiliate link. http://freeoutsourcingcd.com/jw.html Outsourcing might just be the answer you are looking for in the midst of feeling overwhelmed and discouraged with the process of becoming a successful online entrepeneur. Some entrenpeneurs say, do what you do well…and hire or outsource the rest and you will become much more productive and successful.

Here is the link again, if you are interested in information that will free up some of your time while allowing you to make more money than ever before. http://freeoutsourcingcd.com/jw.html Check it out!

Learning something like online marketing it's important to get a mentor who teaches in a safe & effective way. Lay Off Your Boss Marketing teaches affiliate marketing.

I just had a wonderful experience with a mentor. That mentor was teaching me something in the world of publishing and technology. Anytime that a person is trying to do some growing and learning, in an area where they do not feel confident, it is important to get a mentor who is knowledgeable and trustworthy.

Getting a mentor or an instructor who’s teaching style matches up with your learning style is important to maximizing the instruction. I love learning in a relaxed setting.

It is hard not to feel intimidated when you are trying to absorb information all at once from someone who is treating you with a superior attitude or in a demeaning way. My mentor doesn’t do that. As an adult, I realize that not everyone has access to a coach, mentor, or instructor who is as great as mine is…however, if what you are wanting to learn is important enough to you…you will make an effort to find someone who makes you feel safe enough to make mistakes while you learn; knowing that you will not be made to feel stupid while you learn it.

That is important. Life is interesting and there are so many things to do and learn. Be adverturous and explore…find someone who loves teaching, to learn from. You will not be disappointed. Remember, if you are ever in the position of doing the teaching…take the time to make sure that those who are in the position of learning…actually do so, while feeling good about the process!

Kudos to my coach and mentor Dixie Brown of Lay Off Your Boss Marketing. I am an affiliate for them because I believe in what they teach and how they teach it. If you are interested in learning how to market online or to becoming an affiliate marketer in any niche online…then Jeff Wellman, Dixie Brown, Paul Counts are the people you need to learn from. Right at the moment, Dixie has a great video training for *Free* on turning your PLR products into CASH - http://bit.ly/315R1m Take advantage of her great teaching abilities and you too will know what value she adds to the Lay Off Your Boss Marketing Team and to those who wish to learn to making money online!

Rapid Cash Marketing teaches methods of earning money through internet marketing skills and techniques in a realistic way to add cash to your pockets.

This time of year is difficult for many people financially. It is hard to come up with enough cash to meet all of your needs normally but then you throw in the cost of the holidays as well as the extra money needed to heat your homes during the winter and it can become overwhelming. Everyday there are people looking to the internet to learn how to add to their incomes. Job loss and financial uncertainity is frightening when you don’t know how you will find the cash to pay your bills or feed your family. For those who have searched seriously for a program or solution to their problem, they have discovered that many of those programs or coaches cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars; if not thousands, that they just don’t have to spend.

However, for those that do spend….they are quickly overwhelmed when they discover the amount of new skills and knowledge that they must acquire before they can even begin to make lots money…not to mention the discouragement that sets in when they realize how long it will be before they learn enough to make that huge investment of money back. It just isn’t practical to spend thousands and wait 12 months to 2 years to learn enough knowledge and skills to make your money back. Marketing is a system for selling products or services; and, because it is a system…that means there are many components.

What if you could learn some of the techniques that would bring in enough money to pay an extra bill or two a month? Would that be a benefit to you? I am sure that it would. Rapid Cash doesn’t promise to make you millions or guarantee that you will be driving a new car in a week…that is foolishness. On the other hand, Rapid Cash can add enough cash to your pocket to help take some of the pressure off the average person’s monthly struggles http://tinyurl.com/djr2a7 .

You see, what alot of those big named gurus and their programs promise you is unrealistic when you think about it. In their sales pages and videos…they are flaunting their cars, their mansions and piles of money. Yes it is possible to acquire those things; however, what they often don’t tell you is that it has taken them years and tons of money to learn how to earn the kind of skills and knowledge needed to make that happen. It does not happen overnight like that for the average person. It takes alot of work…and a whole lot of expert help to get to that level.

People are often manipulated by those ads to believe that they can achieve that level of success quickly. Realistically, learning is a process and everyone has to start somewhere. I am an affiliate for Rapid Cash Marketing. http://tinyurl.com/djr2a7 They teach you how to use skills and knowledge to earn extra money while you learn those other things about making money online, learning a proven, in- depth internet marketing system that can lead to a higher level of internet marketing success.

There is a team of coaches who are there to teach you how to pick up extra cash to supplement your income with skills that you may already have or can quickly develop. They are knowledgable in many areas and use these skills themselves to earn money online. Do you have digital photo experience, interviewing skills, graphic arts skills, writing skills, direct marketing skills, writing sales letters, video skills, voice over abilities, editing skills, etc? The list goes on…but, if you could learn how to use those skills in an effective way to earn enough money to take the edge off of your present financial situation it would be a blessing right?

If you are willing to learn and willing to take action towards achieving some financial success online then check out this link: http://tinyurl.com/djr2a7 Yes, I will get a financial reward if you were to purchase…but, if their program improved your finances; then, I think you would thank me anyway! I think you will see the wisdom in investing a small amount of money that will quickly repay your investment if you put in the effort to do what the successful internet marketers Jeff Wellman, Dixie Brown, and Paul Counts instruct you to do.

Selling products/services is big business. There are all kinds of techniques out there to teach you how to make money. Your customers want to know, what kind of salesperson are you?

I don’t know about you but, there are times when my email inbox is bombarded with marketing/sales programs proclaiming the BEST techniques to use to make sales. Most of those emails are trying to sell me on their latest program, software or coaching product are trying to tell me that I need to use the hard sell…some say soft sell. Other emails bash me over the head with their offensive black hat techniques; while other marketers side with the white hat techniques-just like the old western movies; right away you knew who were the “good guys and who were the bad guys”. Not really true in marketing…some people have just fallen into the LATEST or promised GREATEST selling techniques proming to make them money online.

There are even people who want or need to sell products or services online…but, they cringe at the very thought of being called a salesperson. They want to make money…but, they don’t want to sell. Why is that; it is because over the years, sales people have gotten a reputation as being pushy, dishonest, or smarmy! The reality is, to make money online-you DO need to be a sales person. Can you successfully sell and still be perceived as a “good person”?

Sure, I think you can sell products or service and still hang on to who you are, with your ethics in place. I believe that the way you sell is a reflection of who you are as a person…or at least, it should be. Don’t be persuaded to take one tack or another in how you market if it goes against who you are as a person; just because it worked for someone else and they made lots of money. For those people LEARNING internet marketing, online sales techniques, or affiliate marketing….I want you to think carefully about what kind of salesperson you are! How you conduct your business definately matters.

In case some of you don’t know it…customers are a pretty savy bunch of people. Oh there are coaches/marketers out there who tell you that your customer doesn’t even really know what it is they want or need; and, while there may be a handful of those kind of customers…for the most part-they Do know what they want. Respect them and act accordingly.

If the customer thinks that they want something that isn’t going to benefit them; you could choose to not correct them and just sell them what they want anyway; but is that right? If you want to keep them happy and see them successful; you will point out the difference between wanting/needing. Show them how they could benefit from other products, if that is the right thing for them, if that will increase their success. You will have gained a customer for life . But what if your product isnt right for them; but, they want it anyway? Truth…give them truth about what they really need…even if it is your competitor’s product or service. Say what?

Isn’t your goal to have a happy customer in the end? Then you must represent yourself and your business in a way that reflects that you respect your customer by not manipulating them into purchases that they either dont want or dont need. But you say, I am in business to make money! True enough…but, repeat business is better than a dishonest sale that will leave a bad taste in your customer’s mouth when they think of you or your business. They will remember how you conducted yourself as a business person; whether you handled the situation in a good way, or in a bad/indifferent way.

In my mind, if you have to “shock” your potential customer by how you “sell” them…then you are merely playing mind games and manipulating the customer with ”black hat” tactics. Instead, try operating in a genuine way which connects what you provide them, along with exactly what they need. Now that may take some honest, straightforward speaking because some of your customers may believe they need something else. You have to convince them with facts, figures, and testimonies that don’t promise them the moon…when you know that you can’t deliver them any such thing. Be realistic with your promises…make sure you can deliver what you say you can; and then, go one step further and give them a bit more. They will recognize your commitment to them, as your customer, and it will begin to build a loyalty between you, as the salesperson; and them, as the buyer.

Ok, some more honesty here; your honesty as a marketer or salesperson… can cost you some customers. What? Why would being honest cost you customers? It is because your customers have been being taught by others to expect to be manipulated. They may think that you are not for real…they may believe that there is a “catch” to what you are promising them. It is possible that your potential customer may buy into another marketer’s big promises or overly hyped product-if it doesn’t deliver them what they expected…that will come back to bite both the customer and the marketer who did not represent themselves or their product/services honestly. It is up to you to present yourself in a way that delivers exactly what you say you will, in the way you promise, in a timely manner; and, back up your promises by following through. Eventually, word gets around about how solid you are as a marketer and you will get respect, as well as trust, from those who do business with you. And what’s more, they WILL come back and DO business with you because they will realize that it is better to deal with business people that are honest in how they conduct their business.

In the old days when people conducted business in small towns…they quickly made a name for themselves as honest or dishonest. Word got around. The internet may be a bigger business field…but, if you create an image online with your customers one way or the other…be prepared for that to impact your business!

So, what kind of salesperson are you; or what kind of salesperson do you want to become?

For those of you who do not know, today is September 21, 2009 and it is being recognized as World Alzheimer’s Day. Alzheimers Disease is a disease that unfortunately touches many individuals and families. It is a progressive brain disease that causes memory loss and is fatal; it’s one of the most common forms of dementia. The disease causes cell damage in the brain which hinders learning and the recall of memories. It’s effects are devastating to the patient and to those who love and care for them.

As the disease progresses the person becomes more distant from those who love them. Their connection to one another through memories and shared experiences are threatened by loss. It feels isolating and overwhelming. Those affected are not alone; the statistics are harsh. Every 70 seconds another person develops Alzheimer’s Disease. It is astonishing; but, 35 million people are living with Alzheimer’s disease around the world. World Alzheimer’s Day is set up to create an awareness of the disease as well as encourage fundraising and research development. Please spread the word…help raise funds,do a memory walk, do your part to share an awareness of the disease and it’s devastation…because, unfortunately, it could touch your life through either your own health or the well-being of someone you care about.

If you would like more information please read about the tragedy of Alzheimers through one of my previous posts here: http://www.writewhereyouareblog.com/?p=2127 . Or go to one of these sites: http://www.alz.org/news_and_events_world_alzheimers_day.asp , http://www.alz.org/index.asp .

Today I did an interview with Louise Sattler who is the creative owner/operator of http://www.signingfamilies.com. Louise is an expert trainer at workshops and classes that teach American Sign Language to help people communicate with one another. She is also a certified school psychologist who has an awareness of the importance of the need for families and community leaders to learn sign language. Sign Language opens doors and bridges gaps for people who are hearing impaired, or who may have developmental delays or special needs. Communication is something that many people take for granted.

Put yourself in the position of a person who is hearing impaired, or a person who lives with special needs; and, consider some environments they they may experience differently than you; such as a trip to the hospital or emergency room. How different would the experience be for you if you were the one who had difficulty making your needs known to the health care professionals. Or say you are an elderly person who is experiencing hearing loss…how are you going to communicate with other residents or say the staff? How about shopping or getting educational services at college or in elementary school? How about ordering a meal in a restaurant? Do you see how the quality of life can be improved for people impacted in this way? Can you see how sign language could open doors for people if others in the community took the opportunity to learn it from someone like Louise or through her DVD’s?

Life is a risky journey; understanding what you control & what you can't is one of the greatest lessons in life. It's like an adventure down a river;some obstacles can't be avoided.

Standing here on the bluff above the water, I see you traveling on your journey down the river. I can see where you stepped into the river; it was smooth and clear. There was no danger when you entered the journey. What began with peace and joy was destined to change. As you traveled; the river picked up speed. There were obstacles between the birth of your journey and it’s winding course that takes you on an adventure. And, I can see much from where I stand, watching your progress. I want to join you and share in the experience; but, something holds me back. Fear or anxiety keep me from jumping in without knowing what will happen next; because it is outside of my control.

I can see how you were able to manuever and avoid some of those obstacles; and yet, from where I watch, I can see that there are places on this river where you will not be able to avoid the debris. It is obvious that you will be slammed into the rocks in some places, there are deep waters up ahead; there are places where the water moves so fast that it tumbles over the waterfall with a suddeness that takes my breath away. You took no precautions, will you survive the fall?

It would have served no purpose to have shouted warnings to you, of the dangers up ahead, when you stepped into the smooth, calm waters on your entry into the river of life; for you would not have heeded the warning. You could not see those dangers for yourself from where the journey began. The joy of the water surrounded you with a false sense of security and peace. You looked so happy; enjoying the ride. You thought you were in control of the journey. Yet, who controls the will of the river? No one has the power to control it except God who made the river. The challenges were to come along the way. They could not be avoided forever; it is the way of life for us all.

The frequent traveler who chooses the same path, over and over again, learns much and can be a guide; yet, by spending all of their time guiding others, the guide risks missing out on new life experiences of their own. So we must understand that life has it’s hurts…and, if a person does not risk the occasional bump or bruise, they will miss much of the joy of the journey. For it is in traveling the river of life where we gain knowledge, experience, and a connection to the world and those around us. I decide to no longer just observe…I want to have an exciting adventure of my own.

The waters may be deep, there could be rapids, there are rocks and debris for each one of us. However, there is also an appreciation for the beauty of the scenery as we travel, the people that we meet and bond with, the thrill of the experience as we take in the challenge and the risks. Living in fear paralyzes and prevents many from experiencing all that life has to offer. Trusting in God, the Creator of the universe, is a lifelong learning lesson. Really, when you think about it, what do you control?

I need to fear less and risk more. I am not in control of what happens in all areas of life. You need to risk less and recognize that fear is a tool that can help prevent avoidable, foolish risks. For you are not in control of all areas of life either. By sharing and connecting with one another, understanding that ultimately God is the only one in control; we will take more from the river experiences and live more fully; appreciating the journey and the scenery along the way. Life is short…let’s not waste any of it!
