I have to say that entering the fray in Babble’s Top 100 Food Mom Bloggers started out simply as a way of honoring my friend Mother Connie. It has since become more about honoring her AND getting people aware of the impact she is making in the lives of the people who visit her Food Stamps Cooking Club Blog. You see, Connie has always been about helping people be healthy (she teaches ways to eat healthier while on a tight budget) but she also truly loves connecting with people and encouraging them.

Her blog is one of community. The people who visit there aren’t simply people who get their groceries from SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-food stamps)…even though that is the name of the blog. It is also written for, and contributed to by, people who receive WIC (Women, Infants, and Children), Angel Food Ministries, Commodities, Farmer’s Market coupons or groceries from local food pantries. Connie encourages people to participate with their cooking tips, shopping or marketing tips, health information and to ask questions that she or her readers may have an answer to.

All of this is done with the intention of helping people to stretch their food dollars and to shop, prepare and serve the healthiest meals that they can to their families. Connie not only accomplishes this…she has been an inspiration to many. For all of those reasons…I ask you to go here to Babble’s Top 100 Mom Food Bloggers and nominate her. All you have to do is find her on page 1 or 2 and click on the “like” button to vote for her. Thanks a lot. Oh, and go visit her blog…and leave her a comment; she loves comments…tell her Write Where You Are sent you!

Making money with PLR, private label rights, online is not only possible; but, it is making some people large amounts of money every day of the week. How in the world do those successful affiliate marketers do it? Sometimes PLR products appear to be less than stellar quality; and yet, even those products are what these marketers call a diamond in the rough. Private label rights products have the ability to become products of great value, with a little re-work or re-purposing of the materials. Still, a free webinar…is that too good to be true? Not in this case! http://bit.ly/cbXxdO

Successful internet marketers, Jeff Wellman and Paul Counts, are on the cutting edge with the technique of teaching individuals live and in great detail internet marketing techniques on their live webinars. Their webinars are not canned, nor are they presented without interaction with their students. This free webinar, $100 a day affiliate marketing system, is full of content. It is a webinar that really, and truly, gets down to the nuts and bolts of how to take a PLR product, and add value by re-working it. Then, taking that new product and rebranding it into a product that you can be proud of. With this process that Jeff and Paul teach, you simply sell it as your very own polished product that your customers find to be worth spending their hard earned cash on.

Many people just don’t believe how much they learn from these two personalable marketers until they hear it for the first time. In fact, over and over again they receive notes in their support telling them that what they are doing is changing lives because of the kind of teaching that they put out their for their online students. You probably won’t believe it either until you listen in. If you have tried and failed to sell PLR products online before, then you need to hear this for yourself. http://bit.ly/cbXxdO

The webinar is on March 10, 2010 at 9:30 pm ET. You won’t believe how far, or in-depth Jeff Wellman and Paul Counts go in teaching important techniques regarding their $100 dollars a day Affiliate Marketing System. This webinar is all about PLR. Remember, this webinar is FREE. http://bit.ly/cbXxdO

*For those of you who care to know…that link is an affiliate link and even though the webinar is free…should a reader of this blog click on it and purchase a program through the $100 dollars a day affiliate marketing system in the future…I would be financially compensated for it later. Thanks for reading!

Learning something like online marketing it's important to get a mentor who teaches in a safe & effective way. Lay Off Your Boss Marketing teaches affiliate marketing.

I just had a wonderful experience with a mentor. That mentor was teaching me something in the world of publishing and technology. Anytime that a person is trying to do some growing and learning, in an area where they do not feel confident, it is important to get a mentor who is knowledgeable and trustworthy.

Getting a mentor or an instructor who’s teaching style matches up with your learning style is important to maximizing the instruction. I love learning in a relaxed setting.

It is hard not to feel intimidated when you are trying to absorb information all at once from someone who is treating you with a superior attitude or in a demeaning way. My mentor doesn’t do that. As an adult, I realize that not everyone has access to a coach, mentor, or instructor who is as great as mine is…however, if what you are wanting to learn is important enough to you…you will make an effort to find someone who makes you feel safe enough to make mistakes while you learn; knowing that you will not be made to feel stupid while you learn it.

That is important. Life is interesting and there are so many things to do and learn. Be adverturous and explore…find someone who loves teaching, to learn from. You will not be disappointed. Remember, if you are ever in the position of doing the teaching…take the time to make sure that those who are in the position of learning…actually do so, while feeling good about the process!

Kudos to my coach and mentor Dixie Brown of Lay Off Your Boss Marketing. I am an affiliate for them because I believe in what they teach and how they teach it. If you are interested in learning how to market online or to becoming an affiliate marketer in any niche online…then Jeff Wellman, Dixie Brown, Paul Counts are the people you need to learn from. Right at the moment, Dixie has a great video training for *Free* on turning your PLR products into CASH - http://bit.ly/315R1m Take advantage of her great teaching abilities and you too will know what value she adds to the Lay Off Your Boss Marketing Team and to those who wish to learn to making money online!

This interview with Louise Sattler discusses communication through sign language and how it opens doors and bridges gaps in communities.

Today I did an interview with Louise Sattler who is the creative owner/operator of http://www.signingfamilies.com. Louise is an expert trainer at workshops and classes that teach American Sign Language to help people communicate with one another. She is also a certified school psychologist who has an awareness of the importance of the need for families and community leaders to learn sign language. Sign Language opens doors and bridges gaps for people who are hearing impaired, or who may have developmental delays or special needs. Communication is something that many people take for granted.

Put yourself in the position of a person who is hearing impaired, or a person who lives with special needs; and, consider some environments they they may experience differently than you; such as a trip to the hospital or emergency room. How different would the experience be for you if you were the one who had difficulty making your needs known to the health care professionals. Or say you are an elderly person who is experiencing hearing loss…how are you going to communicate with other residents or say the staff? How about shopping or getting educational services at college or in elementary school? How about ordering a meal in a restaurant? Do you see how the quality of life can be improved for people impacted in this way? Can you see how sign language could open doors for people if others in the community took the opportunity to learn it from someone like Louise or through her DVD’s?

Louise Sattler has created a DVD for young children and babies to communicate with others through sign language. It is bi-lingual and benefits people with or without disabilities.

I’ve had the recent pleasure of “meeting” an extra-ordinary person with a calling on her life to teach communication skills through sign language to families. Louise Sattler is a very interesting person who has had a variety of experiences in different settings, including the educational field where she was a licensed school psychologist, which has enabled her to work with children and their families to develop strong and effective communication skills.

I met Louise through an online contest, believe it or not. It was run on Twitter. I happen to have won a poetry contest; and the prize, that I chose, was a DVD that was made by Louise Sattler. Louise has a site called: http://www.signingfamilies.com/ . There you will find all kinds of information about Louise and what she does; but, I didn’t know all of that, when I won the DVD.

I chose that DVD because of the title and what I could potentially use it for. The title is, “Baby, Toddler, and Preschool Sign Language”. I work with children in several capacities and I liked the idea of learning some sign language just in case I needed to know it in the future. I was so excited when i got the DVD because, just watching it I could see the passion and the commitment that Louise had for teaching sign language to children and their families.

Bravery came over me and I approached Louise about doing an interview with me so that I could blog about what she does through her workshops, her speaking engagements and through her DVD’s. Louise agreed to do that and I thought that I would share the news of what she does because it helps so many people. By teaching sign language as a way of communicating it allows families to be more effective in advocating for their special needs loved ones.

http://www.signingfamilies.com/ caters to those who live and work with individuals with special education needs. Signing isn’t just for the deaf communities…people who struggle with many issues of disability can benefit from communicating through sign language. So if you work in education, in health- care, daycare, foster care, adoption, or you have a business or a family member who is impacted…this is a great way to brush up your communication skills so that you can strengthen your ability to communicate effectively in your relationships.

If you would like to contact Louise Sattler about her programs & her work she can be reached at Louise@SigningFamilies.com; or, you can contact her to do a workshop, give an interview or a presentation by calling her business line at: 410-715-9647. Louise is also on Twitter: http://twitter.com/Louiseasl . She is very down to earth and she also teaches in Spanish-she is bi-lingual. Ask her about her programs….tell her that Writewhereyouare sent you and you will get a discount. You can purchase her DVD’s at her site: http://www.SigningFamilies.com/ or here on Amazon. com: http://bit.ly/913i5 .

Learning internet marketing is a little like putting together the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. You will find that it is in your best interest to find those pieces in one place.

Ok, the thing about internet marketing is…there are many pieces of the puzzle that no one tells you about in the beginning. So like most people, you start out thinking…ok, I need a product to sell, I sell it, I make money, and I enjoy the fruits of my labors! Whaaalaaaaaaaah…..I am an internet marketer. Except, after you buy a program from some big marketing guru for more money than you have to spend (typically); you find out that they didn’t tell you that you needed program x, y, & z to achieve your goal. Which of course, costs you more money! That just doesn’t seem right, does it?

Or say you hear about a seminar somewhere that is being hyped and promoted as the next best thing…perhaps the only other thing you are missing in your marketing goals. So you purchase a ticket to the event, rent a room at a hotel, purchase a plane ticket, pocket some spending money for meals (lots of money if you are smart-because food at these posh hotels doesn’t come cheap); and off you go, expecting to learn everything you need to know to make you successful. You learn something alright…you learn that you have to jump in with both feet. Networking, connecting, absorbing, gaining contact information and you learn how to go without sleep for 3 days while you try to retain every bit of knowledge that is given to you. You become overloaded with information that you may or may not know what to do with.

There is product creation, niche marketing, hosting, servers, auto responders, email marketing, copywriting, jv partners, promotions, SEO/online traffic…etc. You get the idea; it is doable, believe it or not. You may even possess skills that will help you be successful. You may just need guidance to achieve your goals. One of the first thing a good coach will tell you is…you don’t have to know all of these things yourself/you don’t have to learn all of those skills. Just do the things you love and are good at and outsource or partner with someone who has skills in the areas that you are lacking…that is how the big dogs do it! You can too. You dont have to spend a fortune either; a smart marketer learns to barter or trade skills with another person who needs your skills or knowledge and who has some that would benefit you!

While seminar events are beneficial in many ways…the thing to remember is that they are only a part of the puzzle. You have to do your homework both before and after, the event. Relationships are key to much of what you do online; never forget that. But, internet marketing is not something that you learn overnight. It is not a get rich scheme; there is money to be made but it happens over time. You can make some money more quickly by doing freelance work with some of the skills you already have or have recently learned…but in general, it is not the kind of money that some big named gurus try to make you think you can earn, immediately with little or no work! Be wise.

If you are seriously wanting to learn how to make money online…understand it is a process. There are people out there willing to coach you and teach you what you want and need to know. Some of them will charge you thousands and thousands of dollars for their time, attention, and their programs. Not everyone thinks like that though. There are coaches who truly do make sure that you get all of the pieces of the puzzle to work with in creating your own online presence. Check out this program: http://bit.ly/srhVX

There is a program out there that is making a big impact on the lives of their students. It is called Autopilot Wealth Institute. The coaches are four experts who take the challenge of teaching you what you need to know seriously; they are committed to your success. Have you ever tried to put together a jigsaw puzzle only to find that there are pieces of the puzzle missing? I have…it is no fun.

This past winter we took on a family project of putting together a very large jigsaw puzzle. It was new and we were excited. We worked for a week straight as a family; only to find that we were missing one piece. It was not in the bag in the puzzle box. We searched high and low. It was the only piece. We talked about what to do…should we mount the puzzle on a piece of cardboard and color in that piece; trying to hide the fact that it was missing? Should we tear it all apart and take it back to the store? Hmmm….what to do. My husband came up with a plan to go back to the store and purchase another puzzle with the exact same picture on it…just to get that one piece. It worked alright, i have the picture hanging on the wall to prove it. However, it left us feeling a bit frustrated for having to spend more money to get what we thought we were supposed to already have in our possession!

Some people learn to do internet marketing in that same kind of way. They buy programs that overlap one another just to find that one missing piece that they have not been able to learn yet; costing themselves alot of extra money. You shouldn’t have to purchase programs `ala carte or piece by piece just to learn how to market something online. Any comprehensive program that is teaching internet marketing should have all of the basic puzzle pieces in it.

If you are interested in learning from internet marketing coaches who are committed to teaching you in a way that helps you to succeed…I would recommend the merged talents of internet marketers: Jeff Wellman, Dixie Brown, Paul Counts and Keith Wellman. They each have expert status in different areas of marketing which will supply you with the skills, knowledge and techniques to accomplish your goals. They know how to supply you with any pieces of the puzzle that you think you may be missing!

If you are interested in any of these programs or subjects: IM Tech Talk, Traffic Generation Blueprints, Million Dollar Advantage Program, Rapid Cash Marketing Course http://bit.ly/srhVX then that is where you will find the answers to your questions.

In fact, speaking of questions…one of the great aspects of this program and these coaches, is that they take the time each week (sometimes for hours) to answer the questions that their students may have about any area where they have encountered obstacles. This is a great asset for their students. No one gives anyone a hard time…in fact, usually when one person asks a question…others chime in and say…i wanted to ask the same question. Often, someone will ask YOUR question before you even get the opportunity to ask it yourself. No question is dumb if it is stopping you from going forward with your goals. See if what these marketers have to offer is for you! http://bit.ly/srhVX They will help you put the pieces of your business/website puzzle together so that you get what you are looking for; a completed project.

Artist and author Ralph P. Brown has written a book about the native American medicine wheel and it's application for discovering someone's life purpose and life lessons.

I’ve often thought that self discovery is a life time journey. So many things in life are constantly moving and changing…but, a person’s basic emotional and spiritual makeup is pretty well set. However, understanding yourself and developing yourself to your highest level is something many people are content to ignore. Myself…I have tried to learn as I go. I am reading a wonderful book by Ralph P. Brown called, Awakening The Eagle: A guide to the medicine wheel.

Ralph P. Brown is a native American of the Mohawk tribe. Ralph has written a book that explains the concept of the medicine wheel and how to apply it to our lives. The medicine wheel helps us in our journey of self discovery by teaching us life lessons that we can use to understand and explore the areas of our life that are often a mystery.

The medicine wheel uses stories and pictures as well as direct instruction to teach. The symbols and the energy forces add understanding to what we are to learn in our daily lives to be a better person and to live our lives more fully and with purpose. The realm of the physical and spiritual self are life forces that exist at the same time. People who are willing to seek guidance in their lives through learning about the merging of the physical, spiritual and emotional planes are often those people who seek to understand their purpose in life. We all have a purpose in life and are happiest when we are willing pursuing it. I found this book to be very enlightening.

The author, Ralph P. Brown is also a very talented artist. He does pointillistic art work. You can view some of his artistry here: http://www.mirroredwindows.com/ . Ralph and his wife Anita live in Nebraska and operate the Mirrored Windows Gallery which showcases Ralph’s gorgeous artwork. You can check out his website about this book here: http://www.ralphpbrown.com/. I think that you would find the book very informative as well as beautifully presented with a gorgeous cover and some artwork scattered through the pages of the book. Enjoy!

Isn’t it sad to see someone who was once considered beautiful, sexy, popular and much sought after turned into an empty shell? In other words a hottie turned into a nottie? One of the big misconceptions that the media portrays on men and women is that all you have to do to be successful is to be attractive, popular and available. If a person falls into that trap and doesn’t develop some deeper qualities and values in life…eventually, the emptiness turns a person into a sad, shell of a person who seeks attention in the only way they know how; displaying what they consider to be their only value…their body.

You see this all of the time in the world of celebrities…but everyday people often fall into that trap as well. Beauty, youth, and popularity all pass away in time…what’s left is the spirit, the mind, and their purpose in life. If those aren’t developed along the way…the search for meaning is sometimes mis-directed onto meaningless relationships, trendy pseudo-religions, drugs/alcohol abuse, and endless dramatic attempts to seek attention.

As a society we need to devalue the attention that the media puts on empty pursuits by public role models. We need to encourage those sports figures, politicians, and celebrities who are doing positive…purposeful things in life. Quite giving time and attention to those who are living on the edge and doing nothing more with the gifts in their lives than pursuing selfish and destructive behaviors. In raising our children, we need to develop character building, self esteem, and goals of reaching out to others.

We do this by teaching them to discover how to connect to others, give back to those who are less fortunate in life, teach them spiritual fulfillment, and to value their bodies by encouraging modesty and healthy self- esteem building techniques.

I dont like seeing young guys or gals flaunting their bodies or their finances to gain attention; I like it even less when i see a 40-60 year old who talks, acts, spends, and dresses like a teenager…because that is the only way they know to attract members of the opposite sex. Let’s encourage an attitude of growth, respect, confidence, and personal development as a way of life!

In the “old” days…families lived in close proximity to one another, it was important to the strength of the family. Either several generations lived in the same homestead together or at the very least…lived in the “neighborhood”; close enough to see and communicate with one another on a daily basis. Parents, grandparents, children, aunts, uncles and cousins all grew up together…teaching each other, learning from one another and helping to guide and direct each generation with their own brand of family values; to their place of prominence when it was time. This type of family bonding has been broken for a long time…going back to the years of the great depression; leaving quite an impact on the way families were structured. It wasn’t willful or voluntary…it was necessary.

When families had to seek jobs and living conditions that allowed them to survive; they were often seperated from one another. In those days and before…when family had to become distanced from one another they kept in contact by writing letters, journals or diaries; or in cases of emergency, they sent a telegram. Phones became the next form of communication and true to form; technology is leading the edge of communication in today’s relationships. Cell phones, email, computers with instant chat, faxes combined with air travel, train, busses and boats are our links to one another. Many families just don’t have the advantage of living as close to one another as they would like to be physically present in each other’s daily lives. Because families don’t get lots of time together…alot of our conversations are spent on surface things…or skimming the surface of what’s happening with one another.

It doesn’t go without notice that many people are surrounded by lots of people but are lonelier than they have ever felt. Family support, often is non-existant; or ,not consistent enough to give children a foundation upon which to build their own families when the time comes. Divorce has played a part…but, we all crave closeness and support in spite of such adversities.

That is why i have been interested to hear about those who are finding ways of reaching out to their family and friends in ways that will cement their relationships, in no uncertain terms. Last winter, i took a course on documenting memories or experiences in a written form; so that future generations can have a window into how we each thought, felt, or acted in any given circumstance. The instructor just happened to be my former kindergarten teacher who i was reconnecting with some 30 odd years later . She impressed upon us all the value of passing on memories and experiences to those that we cherished in our lives.

This week i heard about a celebrity who was doing something similar, in his own way. Sidney Poitier has written a book for his great granddaughter. He decided to write down things of importance for him to share with his granddaughter. He is in his 80′s and his great granddaughter is now somewhere around 2 or 3 years of age. He talks of how he was moved to put into written word, things that had relevance for him to communicate to his family member when he was standing in the room with four generations of his family after her birth.

Why do we wait until some monumentual moment in our lives to make these decisions; we all have value to share with one another. It is a form of sharing and caring to be able to “talk” about issues that are near and dear to our hearts with those that we love. It is our legacy to each other. When we are gone…everything we think and feel goes with us; unless we have taken action to preserve such things. Who do you wish to connect with; and what is it that you wish to tell them? Don’t waste another moment…make the time…it doesn’t have to be a novel…don’t worry about grammar or form…just write it down…you will be glad that you did. The words you leave behind may just help to influence the next generation when all of the “other” voices they hear may not have their best interest at heart like you do!
